POSTSECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTIONS

PTCC’s Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program allows 9, 10, 11, and 12 grade students in public, non-public, and home schools to earn college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in college courses at eligible postsecondary institutions. Students earn both college credit and high school credit.  

New PSEO Students
  1. Work with your high school counselor to determine if you meet PSEO eligibility requirements  
  2. Complete the online application to PTCC.  
  3. Schedule a mandatory PSEO New Student Orientation/Registration session with the K-12 Partnerships Coordinator
  4. Submit the following documentation to the K-12 Partnerships Coordinator: 
    • ACT, MCA, or SAT scores (or contact Jodie Klinkhammer to schedule an Accuplacer Assessment) 
    • Copy of your high school transcripts 
Current PSEO Students
  1. Contact the K-12 Partnerships Coordinator to schedule an advising appointment to review your plans and register for classes
Graduating Seniors

Congratulations on your upcoming high school graduation! Follow the steps below as you plan your next steps.

  1. If you plan to continue at PTCC,  update your application (select undergraduate, degree seeking student) and apply for scholarships
  2. If you plan to continue your education at another college or university, submit your PTCC transcripts to your next college or university
  3. Apply for scholarships

Eligibility

To participate in PSEO courses, students must meet the following eligibility guidelines in addition to any course placement requirements. 



Seniors
  • Be in the upper one-half of class or have a test score at or above the 50th percentile on any nationally standardized, norm-referenced test such, or 
  • Have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher, and 
  • Meet course placement requirements as determined by assessment score (such as ACCUPLACER, ACT, MCA)   
Juniors
  • Be in the upper one-third of class or have a test score at or above the 70th percentile on any nationally standardized, norm-referenced test, or 
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher for general education courses or a GPA of 2.5 or higher for career and technical education courses, and 
  • Meet course placement requirements as determined by assessment score (such as ACCUPLACER, ACT, MCA) 
Sophomores & Freshman
  • Rank in the upper one-tenth of class, or  
  • attain a score at or above the 90th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test, or  
  • have a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher for liberal arts and CTE courses, and  
  • have a favorable recommendation from a designated high school official
