Auto Technician Certificate
Be prepared with the technical knowledge and skills to repair, service and maintain all types of automobiles. PTCC’s Automotive Technician program includes instruction in brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance and repair, suspension and steering, transmissions, drive trains, and heating and air conditioning systems.
$1,100 of Automotive tools and a toolboxes are provided to students enrolled in this Auto Technician Certificate. Upon successful completion of the course, students get to keep the tools provided.
Participants will learn basic principles of milling machine and engine lathe operation. This includes machine theory, safety and component identification, set up, tool selection and use of attachments. Students will manufacture machine
tool projects to blueprint specifications. OSHA 10 Certification included.
Basic Shop & Safety
Manufacturing careers are in high demand and this course will help start that career path. Course emphasizes lean manufacturing principles, basic supply chain management, communication skills and customer service. OSHA 10 Certification included.
Business Computer Applications
Stay up-to-date in the computer industry, including what it takes to work from home. Learn computer terminology, hardware, and software as it relates to the business environment. Students will use applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation graphics, as well as business-oriented internet use and the principles of professional behavior in computing.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Working as a nursing assistant (NA) is an excellent stand-alone career or an excellent way to launch a nursing career. PTCC’s program will prepare you with the knowledge and clinical skills to work in a variety of settings including nursing homes, hospitals, adult day care centers, personal homes, and assisted living facilities. NA training requires just a few weeks of time and provides the information and skills needed to become a Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota State Registry.

Learn about basic oxy/fuel cutting and welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding processes and the safety concerns connected with them. Explore the endless career opportunities in the high demand field of welding.
Personal protective equipment (i.e. Welding helmet, jacket, and gloves) are provided to all students enrolled in this Introduction to Welding courses. Upon successful completion of the course, students get to keep the personal protective equipment provided.
