Admission Criterion

In an effort to provide higher education for all who seek it, Pine Technical & Community College is an "open institution," meaning the college is open to admit all those who have earned a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). (Additional criteria may apply for certain programs; for example, passing a background check for acceptance into the Gunsmithing Technology program.)

Applicants who do not meet the college admission requirement of having a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) may be considered for admission to Pine Technical & Community College under Ability to Benefit (ATB). (Students without a high school diploma or GED are not eligible to receive federal financial aid unless they meet established federal ATB guidelines through Accuplacer placement test scores.)
