Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Training

  • Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record*
  • Must have a valid CDL permit
  • Complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam from a certified provider and a drug test from a certified provider**
  • Must be able to read and speak English well enough to perform all truck driver duties
  • Must be at least 18 years old; 21 if you plan to drive interstate routes

How You Will Learn

We provide a diverse mix of classroom and discussion sessions, videos, driving demos, and hands-on driving both on the road and at our campus. You will train on newer, manual transmissions trucks and learn to maneuver tractor-trailer combinations.

Class Availability and Fees

Class A Course:
168 Total Hours (approximately 6 weeks) $5000*
Funding options may be available for students that qualify
(includes textbook, daily log book, safety vest & use of the campus truck for the road test at the DMV)

Additional Program Costs
Drug Test:
$30-$45* You must obtain a drug test from a Pine Technical & Community College authorized provider. Click here for a list of authorized providers.

Department of Transportation Physical Exam (DOT Physical):
$110-120* You must obtain the exam from a provider on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration National Registry. Click here for information regarding local clinical sites.
